Thank you for that defniniton. A much better explanation than I could have offered. I only know what I've seen. I live in Monterey Park, the Chinese Beverly Hills. The world's first suburban China Town. So I see a lot of Asians.
The only thing I can add is that the Mongolian blue spot is a life long condition for Asians. But, for Native Americans, and mestizos it can disappear after infancy.
It is a subcutaneous deep purple birth mark about the size of a hen's egg at the top of the nalgas! To put it indelicately, at the top of the ass crack. At least that's where I've seen it with my own two peepers.

Mongolian Blue Spots
My children had the mongolian spots - a day care center actually reported me
to DCFS - they came, and had to give the day care center a cultural
indoctrination. Poor me, when my first born came to the world, I thought I had
somehow hurt him during the birthing process - the Filipina nurse simply laughed
and said - "honey, that means he is not white."
Anyway, I know that Mexico had many cultures (Chinese included), and wanted

The Mongolian blue spot does look exactly like a bruise.
We certainly are talking about he most personal things in our lives, and on our bodies. It feels good to open up like this. Like we were on big support group:)
