I have begun transcribing all of the paleography I have been doing on
the Tlaltenango marriages film into the GEDCOM database. I have also
been supplementing it from the IGI entries from the contemporary
baptisms film and some information I have from the Jerez parrish
registers also from the same time. It appears that many of these
families would marry back and forth between the two towns. as would be
expected given that they are so close. There are actually a few
Colotlan marriages that I have run across as well, where the local
priest in Tlaltenango would record a marriage that took place in
Colotlan when one of the spouses was from his jurisdiction.

Click on GEDCOM from the top menu to view. You can either search the
database or list by surname. If anybody is interested in helping me get
through the film, please let me know.

Tlaltenango Marriages in GEDCOM Database

cool, cool project. . .I'd love to help, but but but, well, tell me is
it something along the realms of dataentry that you need help with or
will I need to order that film and transcribing. I don't get to the FHC
much these days so It would be hard for me to volunteer for something
that I might not get to for a long time.

. . .but if you have many digital photos of record that you need data
entered for well YES send me 25 and let's see how long it takes me to
get through that many records.

Tlaltenango /Momas

Anyone have a clue as to the difference between Momax and Tlaltenango films

It seems that Cuculiten is closer to Momax but I'm finding info in the
Tlaltenango films. I would guess that in realitiy it would be much safer
to check both sets of films for Cuculiten info. Is that the general
thought.

Would this be similar to folks living close to Santa Maria de Los
Angeles and then sometimes taking their church "business" to either
Huejucar or Colotlan instead?

just out of choice.
